SOMATIC THERAPY

Improve Your MIND-BODY Connection

Somatic therapy helps reconnect your mind and body so that you can begin listening to the body's messages, be more aware of your own needs, and be attuned with core self.

Feel safe in your body

Unlock emotional healing through the mind-body connection.

Somatic psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body, emphasizing how physical sensations, posture, and movement are deeply connected to emotions and memories. The body-centered approaches that our therapists use encourage clients to safely and gently access unconscious patterns, and release trauma that is stored in the body. This holistic approach to therapy is transformational, and can help clients that feel stuck in their current therapy or are interested in going deeper into their lived experience.

Often, the body holds onto stress, trauma, or unresolved experiences in ways that words alone cannot fully express. By bringing attention to these bodily experiences, somatic psychotherapy helps clients uncover and release tension or patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress.

In sessions, clients are gently guided to tune into their physical sensations and the messages their body may be sending. This might involve noticing where they feel tightness, heaviness, or warmth, or observing changes in their breathing or posture. Through this process, clients can access deeper emotions, memories, or insights that might not surface through traditional talk therapy.

Somatic psychotherapy is not just about identifying where emotions are stored in the body—it also provides tools to regulate the nervous system, foster a sense of safety, and build resilience. Techniques may include breathwork, grounding exercises, mindful movement, or guided visualization, all designed to help the body and mind work together in harmony.

This gentle, body-centered approach can be particularly effective for individuals healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, or chronic stress. By addressing the body’s role in emotional well-being, somatic psychotherapy empowers clients to feel more present, connected, and capable of moving through life with greater ease and self-awareness. It’s a reminder that healing is not only about what we think but also about how we feel in our bodies..
